LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Basketball weekly award winners on Monday, as Gwynedd Mercy’s Vinson and Immaculata’s Dylan Crews each earn weekly honor as Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week respectively.
Player of the Week:
Name: JoHaan Vinson
School: Gwynedd Mercy
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa.
High School: Boys Latin
Brief Outlook of Week: With the team going 1-1 this week Vinson finished with a career-high 33 points on Monday at Cairn. He averaged 22.5 points per game in two games this week with 8.5 rebounds, an assist, and a steal per game
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Dylan Crews
School: Immaculata
Class: Junior
Position: Guard
Hometown: Philadelphia. Pa.
High School: Cristo Rey Academy
Brief Outlook of Week: Crews had two defensive rebounds, with one blocked shot and three steals to help lead Immaculata to a win over Mississippi University for Women. The junior helped the Mighty Mac’s to a 1-0 week adding four assists and four points in 19 minutes on the court.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Mandon Seapoe (Fy., Guard, Immaculata): Seapoe scored 19 points shooting 8-for-11 (.727) from the field and 2-for-2 from behind the arc, with two rebounds and a steal to help lead Immaculata to a non-conference win over Mississippi University for Women.
Jalen Vaughns (Sr., Forward, Neumann): Jalen Vaughns led the Knights with 17 points and seven rebounds in a close 59-53 loss to Susquehanna in the only game of the week. The senior also had three assists and a steal.
