LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Basketball weekly award winners on Monday, as Neumann’s Jalen Vaughns and Immaculata’s Tyler Tillery each earn their second weekly honor as Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week respectively.
Player of the Week:
Name: Jalen Vaughns
School: Neumann
Class: Senior
Position: Forward
Hometown: Tobyhanna, Pa.
High School: Pocono Mountain West
Brief Outlook of Week: Vaughns led the Knights with 33 points and 15 rebounds in an 80-56 win over Valley Forge in the lone game of the week. Nine of his rebounds we offensive. The junior was 3-for-3 from the line and made 15-of-21 from the floor.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Tyler Tillery
School: Immaculata
Class: Graduate Student
Position: Forward
Hometown: Baltimore, Md.
High School: Gerstell Academy
Brief Outlook of Week: Tillery had 14 rebounds including 12 defensive rebounds, with three blocked shots, and two steals to go along with seven points vs Arcadia on November 21st. Tillery has been averaging 9.5 rebounds per game this season.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Manny Clark (Gr., Guard, Gwynedd Mercy): Clark's six points led a very balanced first half as 10 different Griffins scored in the opening period of a 76-68 loss to Delaware Valley. Clark finished with a team-high 14 points and added a team-high 10 rebounds for his second career double-double. He also recorded two assists and two steals.
TJ Lewis (Jr., Guard, Neumann): Lewis tallied 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in an 80-56 win over Valley Forge in the lone game of the week for the Knights.
Donoven Mack (Jr., Guard, Cabrini): Mack collected a game high 18 points in the win over Scranton. The junior shot 7-14 from the field and added two rebounds in the 74-62 victory.
Marcus Stubbs (Sr., Guard, Marymount) – Stubbs made five 3-pointers and led all scorers with 21 points on Tuesday against Catholic. He also added five rebounds and two blocks.
