Marymount's Cooper and Cabrini's Warren Earn Men's Basketball Weekly Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Basketball weekly award winners on Monday, as Marymount’s Montell Cooper and Cabrini’s Bryan Warren each earn weekly honor as Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week respectively.

Player of the Week:
Name: Montell Cooper
School: Marymount
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
Hometown: Glenn Dale, Md.  
High School: Our Lady of Good Counsel
Brief Outlook of Week: Senior Montell Cooper was the leader in the Saints' 2-0 week. Averaging 25 points per game, the Maryland native furthered his stat line with 11 rebounds, seven assists, and eight steals across the week. In Wednesday's decisive win over Arcadia, Cooper posted 27 points, good for a new career high, on 12-of-16 shooting from the floor.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Bryan Warren
School: Cabrini
Class: First Year
Position: Guard
Hometown: Sicklerville, N.J.
High School: Timber Creek
Brief Outlook of Week: Warren had a strong week on the defensive side of the ball for the Cavaliers. He led the team with eight steals and 16 defensive rebounds in the three-game week for Cabrini. The first year also tallied 18 points across the three games.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Jalen Vaughns (Sr., Forward, Neumann): Vaughns averaged 19.7 points and 6.7 rebounds in three games for Neumann. The seniors scored double-digits in each game with a week high of 30 points in a 92-90 overtime loss at Eastern. Vaughns also added 11 rebounds for a double-double against the Eagles.
