LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Field Hockey Players of the Week for weeks games through Sunday, October 8
th. Marywood’s Lahr and Neumann’s Emma Schneider were named Player and Defensive Player of the Week respectively.
Player of the Week:
Name: Cydney Lahr
School: Marywood
Class: Senior
Position: Forward

Brief Outlook of Week: In a 13-point week, Lahr scored five goals and three assists to lead Marywood to three wins. In the Pacers' 2-1 decision over DeSales, she took a Dariane Jones pass from the defensive end, running past defenders to beat the goalkeeper for the game-winning goal 18 seconds before halftime. Lahr had two goals and an assist in a 10-0 victory over the Valiants. She had two goals and two assists in a 5-1 win against Wilkes.

Name: Emma Schneider
School: Neumann
Class: Junior
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Springfield, Pa.
High School: Springfield
Brief Outlook of Week: Schneider made nine saves in a 1-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy in Atlantic East Conference action. In her lone start of the week, the junior picked up her first collegiate shutout as the Knights defeated the Griffins for the first time since 2009.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Caroline Gallagher (Sr., Midfield, Cabrini) – Gallagher had six points in the 1-1 week for the Cavaliers. The senior tallied two goals two assists against Neumann. And led the charge in a tough 1-0 loss to Immaculata with 7 shots on goal.
Charlotte Horn, (Jr., Defender, St. Mary’s) - Horn led a Seahawk defensive unit that posted a 1.00 team GAA and held opponents to just 13 shots (seven on goal) in a 2-0 week as St. Mary's defeated Immaculata, 5-1, and No. 17 Rowan, 3-1. Horn also helped offensively with a goal in St. Mary's road win over Immaculata.
Cassie Slusser (Jr., Midfielder/Back, Marywood) – Slusser led a defensive unit that kept opponents to .667 goals per game. She stopped an attempt in the Pacers' defensive zone in the final seconds of Marywood's 2-1 win over DeSales. Slusser and the Marywood defense picked up a shutout over Manhattanville. The Pacers' defense kept Wilkes to just one goal in a win.
Brenna Ziegler, (So., Forward, St. Mary’s) - Ziegler led St. Mary's to a 2-0 week with two goal and an assist. Ziegler started midweek with a goal and an assist in a 5-1 conference road win over Immaculata. She then scored the team's second goal as the Seahawks upset No. 17 Rowan, 3-1.
