LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Field Hockey Players of the Week for weeks games through Monday, September 24
th. Marywood's Jones and Immaculata's Levase were named Player and Defensive Player of the Week respectively.
Player of the Week:
Name: Dariane Jones
School: Marywood
Class: Sophomore
Position: Midfielder
Hometown: Factoryville, Pa.
High School: Lackawanna Trail
Brief Outlook of Week: Jones totaled seven goals and three assists for 17 points in the Pacers' three victories this week. She notched back-to-back hat tricks in wins over Keystone and King's. Jones followed that up with a goal and two assists in Marywood's 7-0 shutout over Western Connecticut State. The sophomore midfielder found the back of the cage on seven of her eight shots on target
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Julia Levase
School: Immaculata
Class: Junior
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Claymont, DE
High School: Mount Pleasant
Brief Outlook of Week: Made eight saves and helped Immaculata defend 14 out of 15 penalty corners in the Mighty Macs 2-1 overtime victory over Widner on September 20th.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Cat Morgan, (Sr., Goalkeeper, Manhattanville) - Played a scoreless last three quarters off the bench in Wednesday's matchup against Mount Holyoke. Made 10 saves across her 45 shutout minutes, lowering her goals-against average for the year to 2.00. The 10 saves was Morgan's highest in a game since Oct. 22, 2022 against Marywood.
Corrin Hasty (Jr., Back, Marywood) – In Hasty helped a Marywood defense hold opponents to .667 goals per game in three wins this week over Keystone, King's and Western Connecticut State. The South Berwick, Maine native scored two goals in a 7-0 shutout win over WestConn.
