Passanante, Hamm Earn Softball Weekly Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the softball weekly honors on Monday, as Centenary University's Madison Passanante earned Player of the Week and Mara Hamm of Marywood University earned Pitcher of the Week.

Player of the Week: 
Name: Madison Passanante
School: Centenary University

Brief Outlook of Week: Passanante hit .615 with 8 RBIs, six runs scored, two doubles and five walks as she led the Cyclones to their first three wins of the year (in 5 games). Passanante's biggest performance came versus Eureka as she went 3-for-3 with 4 RBIs, two runs scored and two doubles. One of Passanante's doubles came in the bottom of the seventh as the Cyclones were down to their final out and still trailing, she drove in two to tie the game and send the contest to extra innings were the Cyclones eventually won. She also went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three walks in a hard fought one run loss to Cazenovia. Passanante had at least one hit in all five games last week and she drove in at least one run and scored at least one run in four of those five contests.
 
Pitcher of the Week:
Name: Mara Hamm
School: Marywood University
Class: Sophomore
Position: Pitcher
Hometown: Clarks Summit, PA
High School: Abington Heights
Brief Outlook of Week: Hamm went 3-0 in Florida with wins over Concordia Chicago, Berea College and Monmouth (Ill.). She had three complete games, which included a nine-inning affair against Concordia. In 23 innings pitched, she had a 2.13 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and struck out 20 while allowing only three extra base hits (all doubles). She held opponents to a .216 batting average in her three wins and allowed just seven earned runs out of 11 total given up.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Nina Kozar (Sophomore / Marywood): Kozar led Marywood to a 4-2 week in Florida after batting .467 with two homers and five RBI. Kozar went 7-for-15 at the plate with seven runs scored, had a .867 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage. She added a .971 fielding percentage with 28 putouts and five assists in 34 chances.
