Women's Soccer 10/18/2021 12:01:41 PM Mulherin, Needham Tabbed Women's Soccer Players of the Week LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Soccer weekly awards on Monday afternoon, naming Riley Mulherin of Marywood University offensive player of the week and Grace Needham of Marymount University defensive player of the week. Offensive Player of the Week: Name: Riley Mulherin School: Marywood University Class: Freshman Position: Forward Hometown: Clarks Summit, PA High School: Abington Heights Brief Outlook of Week: Mulherin had the assist on an overtime game-winning goal over Penn College mid-week before netting a hat-trick in the Pacers' conference win over Gwynedd Mercy University Saturday. The rookie forward finished the week leading Marywood attack with 12 shots, eight of which were on goal. She finished with a team-best seven points (3G, 1A) in the Pacers' 2-0 week. Defensive Player of the Week: Name: Grace Needham School: Marymount University Class: Freshman Position: Goalie Hometown: Newtown, PA High School: Council Rock North Brief Outlook of Week: Needham kept a pair of clean sheets last week as the Saints earned a pair of Atlantic East Conference wins. The freshman made three saves in a 3-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy, and followed that up with a five save performance in a 2-0 win over Immaculata. Needham played the full 90 minutes in both contests. Weekly Honor Roll: Rebekah Becker (Marywood / Sophomore / Goalie): Becker helped Marywood continue their shutout streak with two shutout performances in net. The sophomore netminder made four crucial stops midweek in a 1-0 overtime win over Penn College before extending Marywood's shutout streak to four full games and 453:15 overall after playing the first half in a win over Gwynedd Mercy Saturday. Ashley Tutzauer (Cabrini / GR / Goalie): Tutzauer recorded 5 saves over 2 games to score shutout wins over Immaculata and Neumann.
