Tzitzis, Macrina Earn Women's Weekly Awards

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Soccer weekly awards on Monday afternoon, naming Victoria Tzitzis of Marywood University offensive player of the week and Leona Macrina of Neumann University defensive player of the week.

Offensive Player of the Week:

School: Marywood University
Class: Sophomore
Position: Forward
Hometown: Marlboro, NJ
High School: Marlboro
Brief Outlook of Week: Tzitzis had two key assists on the week as Marywood went 2-0 with wins over Kean (2-0) and Alvernia (1-0). Against Kean, Tzitzis' cross to Antonella Doglio at the far post provided an important insurance goal, and her saved shot that was finished by Madison Blackshire gave the Pacers' the game-winner in the 89th minute in a 1-0 win over Alvernia Saturday.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Leona Macrina
School: Neumann University
Class: Freshman
Position: Goalie
Hometown: West Wildwood, NJ
High School: Wildwood Catholic
Brief Outlook of Week: Leona Macrina went 1-1 in net in two close games this week. In a 1-0 overtime loss against Eastern, the freshman made 11 saves in net. The Knights followed up with a 1-0 win against Lancaster Bible on Saturday when Macrina made three saves in net for the shutout win.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Rebekah Becker (Marywood / Sophomore / Goalie): Becker picked up two clean slates in goal for Marywood, who shutout Kean 2-0 on the road in Union, New Jersey Wednesday night and blanked Alvernia 1-0 on Saturday at home. Against Kean, Becker made a game-high six saves to preserve the shutout.
