Sorce, Needham Earn Women's Soccer Weekly Awards

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Soccer weekly awards on Monday afternoon, naming Josephine Sorce of Marywood University offensive player of the week and Grace Needham of Marymount University defensive player of the week.

Offensive Player of the Week:
Name: Josephine Sorce
School: Marywood University
Class: Sophomore
Position: Midfield
Hometown: Monroe, NY
High School: Monroe-Woodbury
Brief Outlook of Week: Sorce talled two second half goals to propel a 3-1 come-from-behind win for the Pacers, who went 1-1 on the week. Trailing 1-0 at Cazenovia at the half, Sorce scored just 1:20 into the second half, unassisted, then added another unassisted tally in the 72nd minute as an insurance goal.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Grace Needham
School: Marymount University
Class: Freshman
Position: Goalie
Hometown: Newtown, PA
High School: Council Rock North
Brief Outlook of Week: Needham recorded the second clean sheet of her career in Marymount's 2-0 victory over Centenary University last weekend. The freshman made a whopping 13 saves in 90 minutes of action to help the Saints start conference play on the right foot.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Nair Sita (Marymount / Sophomore / Forward): Nair was instrumental in Marymount opening conference play with a 2-0 win over Centenary University. The Falls Church, Virginia, native scored the game-winning goal and assisted on MU's second to seal the victory for her second multi-point effort of the season.

Brianna Blair (Cabrini / Senior / Defense): Blair scored three goals last week, while anchoring a Cabrini defense that posted a pair of shutouts. The senior recorded her first career hat trick on just three shots in Cabrini's 3-0 win over Lancaster Bible. The Cavaliers followed that with a 3-0 shutout over Alvernia.
