Neumann's Sperrazza, Sieminski Seal Softball Weekly Honors
LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the weekly awards for softball on Monday afternoon, as Neumann University grabbed both accolades with Grace Sperrazza being named Player of the Week and Jen Sieminski tabbed Pitcher of the Week.
Player of the Week:
Name: Grace Sperrazza
School: Neumann University
Class: Junior
Position: Infielder
Hometown: Mercerville, N.J.
High School: Steinhart
Brief Outlook of Week: Sperrazza batted .625 (10-for-16) over five games, helping the Knights to a perfect 5-0 week against league opponents. Four of her 10 hits were for extra bases, three doubles and a grandslam. She finished the week with eight RBI and seven runs scored as Neumann advanced to the Atlantic East Championship series.
Pitcher of the Week:
Name: Jen Sieminski
School: Neumann University
Class: Junior
Hometown: Bear, Del.
High School: Caravel Academy
Brief Outlook of Week: Sieminski was 3-0 in three starts, all complete games. She pitched two shutouts and finished the week with a 0.50 ERA. Over 14.0 innings, Sieminski allowed one run on nine hits and struck out 15. Her two shutout wins game in the first round of the Atlantic East postseason to help the Knights advance to the Atlantic East Championship series.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Keani Hindle (Immaculata / Sophomore / Shortstop): Hindle finished off her amazing sophomore season by going 6-for-11 (.545) this week in two regular season games and three postseason games. She had three runs scored, two doubles, a home run, seven RBIs, three stolen bases, and six walks. She finished the season hitting .481 with 52 hits, 10 home runs, and 48 RBI.
Brandi Dalious (Wesley / Junior / Infielder): Dalious hit .545 last week with six hits during the week. Five of her six hits were extra-base hits, including three home runs and two doubles. Dalious drove in six runs and scored five times. In five games, Dalious reached base at a .688 clip and slugged 1.545.
Dori Loukopoulos (Wesley / Sophomore / Pitcher): Loukopoulos notched two wins on the mound during Wesley's Pod B run in the Atlantic East Conference Championship Tournament. Loukopoulos clinched Wesley's berth in the Atlantic East Championship Series on Saturday with a complete-game two-hitter against Immaculata. After giving up the two runs in the first inning, Loukopoulos effectively shut down the Immaculata offense. She only allowed three base runners with one hit following the first inning and retired the Immaculata side in order during the final four innings of the game.
