Sperrazza, Stairiker Tabbed First-Ever Softball Weekly Honorees

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the first-ever softball weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon, and Neumann University's Grace Sperrazza was named Player of the Week while Cabrini University's Grace Stairiker was tabbed Pitcher of the Week.

Player of the Week:
Name: Grace Sperrazza
School: Neumann University
Class: Junior
Position: Infielder
Hometown: Mercerville, N.J.
High School: Steinhart
Brief Outlook of Week: Sperrazza batted .500 at the plate through two games, registering four hits for two runs, four runs batted in, a double, and a walk. Totaling nine bases in the two contests, she didn't strikeout in either game while registering eight putouts and two assists on the field with no errors.

Pitcher of the Week:
Name: Grace Stairiker
School: Cabrini University
Class: Freshman
Hometown: Caldwell, N.J.
High School: Morris Catholic
Brief Outlook of Week: Stairiker was instrumental in the Cavaliers 13-0 victory over Northern Vermont as the freshman tossed a complete game shutout and narrowly missing a perfect game with nine strikeouts. She allowed just one hit and no walks to stifle the Norther Vermont offense. She came in for relief in the second game against Hanover, tossing three innings for just one hit, no runs, and two walks.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Ashley Royer (Wesley / Senior / Infielder): Royer hit Wesley's first home run of the season on a solo shot to left center field in the Wolverines' season opener against Swarthmore.

Jen Sieminski (Neumann / Junior / Pitcher): Sieminski went 2-0 as the Knights opened the season 2-0. The junior pitched 12.0 innings and allowed four runs, two earned, on 13 hits while striking out five. After two games, one start and one in relief, she holds a 1.17 ERA.
