Immaculata's Hindle, Bischoff Sweep Softball Weekly Awards
LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the weekly awards for softball on Monday afternoon, as Immaculata earned a clean sweep of the honors. Keani Hindle was named Player of the Week, while Emma Bischoff was selected as Pitcher of the Week.
Player of the Week:
Name: Keani Hindle
School: Immaculata University
Class: Sophomore
Position: Shortstop
Hometown: Seaville, N.J.
High School: Ocean City
Brief Outlook of Week: Hindle hit .542 (13-for-24) over seven games with six runs scored, two doubles, four home runs and 15 runs batted in. She had five multi-hit games, including a 4-for-4 game in a win over Widener with three runs scored, two home runs, and seven RBI. She hit a huge three-run home run to help the Macs sweep Marywood.
Pitcher of the Week:
Name: Emma Bischoff
School: Immaculata University
Class: Sophomore
Hometown: Tabernacle, N.J.
High School: Seneca
Brief Outlook of Week: Bischoff was outstanding in four appearances this week, including two complete game shutouts. She was 4-0 with a 0.43 ERA over 21 innings with 24 strikeouts. She tossed a complete game shutout over six innings, allowing just five hits and striking out eight against Widener. She tossed another five-hit shutout to beat Marywood with 10 strikeouts. On Sunday, she provided five innings of shutout, one-hit relief to allow the Macs to come back and defeat Catholic.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Grace Sperrazza (Neumann / Junior / Second Baseman): Sperrazza batted .368 (7-for-19) in a 5-1 overall week and 2-0 in Atlantic East action for the Knights. The junior tallied two homeruns and a triple, knocked in six runs and scored seven. She was also 3-for-4 in stolen bases.
Amber Seamen (Cabrini / Sophomore / Catcher): Seamen hit .571 (8-14) with four doubles and a home run, as Cabrini went 4-0 last week. The sophomore went a combined 3-7 with three doubles in a pair of wins over Keystone. With Keystone threatening in the third inning, she also picked off two runners in the same at bat to end the inning. On Saturday, Seamen went 5-7 with a double, home run, a pair of RBI and three runs scored to sweep Wesley.
