Bormann, Schell Claim Softball Weekly Honors
LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the weekly awards for softball on Monday afternoon, as Immaculata University's Jessica Bormann was tabbed Pitcher of the Week and Cabrini University's Alexandra Schell was named Player of the Week.

Brief Outlook of Week: Schell hit .563 (9-16) with a double, 3 home runs, 6 runs scored and 7 RBI, as Cabrini went 3-1 last week. in a nonconference DH against Cedar Crest, Schell went 7-8 with 4 RBI, 4 runs scored, a double, a home run and a pair of stolen bases. In Saturday's showdown against Marywood, Schell collected 2 hits, 2 home runs, drove in 3 runs and scored twice.

Name: Jessica Bormann
School: Immaculata University

High School: Brick
Brief Outlook of Week: Bormann earned the win in two of her starts this week. She went eight innings for the extra innings victory over Ursinus, then earned the win with another complete game against Neumann. Between the two games, she had just three earned runs while striking out six for 15 total innings.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Karina Cardona (Wesley / Junior / Infielder): Cardona tallied five hits in seven at-bats in a doubleheader sweep over Eastern on Thursday, four of which were doubles. Cardona also drove in six runs and scored twice in the pair of games.
Casey Scheuren (Cabrini / Sophomore / Pitcher): Scheuren went 2-0 with a 1.62 ERA including a shutout last week. The sophomore allowed three earned runs on eight hits in a complete game win over Cedar Crest. In a relief appearance against Marywood, Scheuren allowed just one earned run in 3.1 innings of work. She continued her solid pitching in the nightcap, allowing just five hits in a 6-0 shutout of the Pacers.
Jessica Anderson (Wesley / Freshman / Pitcher): Anderson pitched a two-hit shutout to collect her sixth win of the season in Wesley's 13-0 win over Eastern on Thursday.. She struck out five batters, scattered three walk and a hit batter for her eighth complete game and second shutout of 2019. Anderson also came in relief in the second game and pitched a scoreless fifth inning with a strikeout.
