Pratt's Russell and Marymount's Aber Awarded Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Volleyball weekly award winners on Monday, with Pratt's Colleen Russell being named Player of the Week and Marymount’s Emerson Aber being named Defensive Player of the Week.

School: Pratt
Class: Senior
Position: Middle Hitter
Hometown: Asbury, N.J.
High School: North Hunterdon
Brief Outlook of Week: Russell was the driving force behind Pratt's 3-1 win over Lehman on Thursday. In their lone match of the week, Russell recorded a match-high 18 kills on 39 attempts for a .385 hitting percentage, and also added a block assist and a service ace. Her 18 kills were one shy of matching her career high, averaging 4.50 kills per set and 4.88 points per set.

Specialty Player of the Week: Emerson Aber
School: Marymount
Class: Senior
Position: Setter
Hometown: Cumming, Ga.
High School: Denmark
Brief Outlook of Week: Senior setter Emerson Aber continued her early season dominance this past weekend, leading to a pair of wins on Saturday in front of the home crowd. Putting up 64 total assists across two matches, she tied a career-high 40 against Ramapo. The senior added 22 total digs, four block assists, and two service aces to her credit. She averaged an astounding 9.14 assists per set while posting a 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Rey Bennett, Centenary: Bennett totaled 40 digs across three games, averaging 4.00 digs per set. 

Kate Etter, Gwynedd Mercy: Etter totaled 28.0 points (23 kills, 4 aces, 2 block assists), 3 assists, and 22 digs. She averaged 2.56 kills per set, 3.11 points per set, and 2.44 digs per set.

P.J. Mendoza, Gwynedd Mercy: Mendoza totaled one kill, six assists, two aces, and 28 digs across three games, highlighted by a 3.50 digs per set averaged.

Adriana Ventura, Immaculata: Ventura averaged 5.36 digs per set and 18.8 digs per match for the week, finishing in double digits for digs in every contest while anchoring the Mighty Macs' defensive effort.

Elizabeth Stackpole, Marymount: Stackpole was the centerpiece in the Saints' pair of wins on Saturday. Knocking 17 total kills across the pair of victories, the senior middle hitter added nine block assists for 21.5 total points. She hit at an impressive .588 clip against Ramapo, before following it with a .429 hitting percentage against Shenandoah. On the week, she averaged 2.43 kills per set and 3.07 points per set.

Emma Hwang, Pratt: Rookie Emma Hwang recorded 18 assists, four service aces and nine digs as Pratt topped Lehman College 3-1 on Thursday in their lone match on the week. Her 18 assists and four aces were both match highs, averaging 4.50 assists per set, 2.50 points per set, and 2.25 digs per set.
