HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Softball weekly award winners on Monday, as Kassidy Kehoe of Gwynedd Mercy was named Player of the Week and Marywood’s Emily Dubisz was named Pitcher of the Week.
Player of the Week: Kassidy Kehoe
School: Gwynedd Mercy
Class: Junior
Position: First Base
Hometown: Lansdale, Pa.
High School: North Penn
Brief Outlook of Week: Kehoe was 6-for-9 with a walk, 6 runs, and 2 RBI as the Griffins' lead-off hitter in a doubleheader split at Penn State Schuylkill. She recorded three hits and three runs scored in each contest; Kehoe was 3-for-5 with 3 runs and an RBI in a 11-8 game one win, then 3-for-4 with a walk, 3 runs, and an RBI in an 9-8 game-two loss.
Pitcher of the Week: Emily Dubisz
School: Marywood
Class: Freshman
Position: Pitcher
Hometown: Stroundsburg, Pa.
High School: Pocono Mountain East
Brief Outlook of Week: Dubisz sported a 0.00 ERA in five innings this week. In a 9-1 win over Saint Elizabeth, she pitched a complete game victory by allowing zero earned runs, five base hits and one walk. She struck out four.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Kayla Melsky, Centenary: Melsky batted .525 with a .739 slugging percentage, coming from 12 hits, two doubles, and a home run. Splitting Immaculata with a win and a loss, she totaled three hits and six RBI’s across the two contests. On the week, the freshman fielded perfectly, had 11 RBI’s, and eight runs scored.
Carlee Karcher, Marywood: Karcher had a strong week for Immaculata, going a combined 8-for-12 over four games with three runs scored, four doubles, one triple, and three RBIs. She went 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored in game two of a doubleheader against Eastern on Tuesday. Karcher stayed hot against Centenary, going 3-for-3 with three doubles, one run scored, and two RBIs in game one of the doubleheader. She followed that performance by going 2-for-4 with a triple, one run scored, and one RBI in game two. Her triple also marked the 100th hit of her career.
Renee McDonald, Marywood: McDonald batted .714 over two games to lead the Pacers to an Atlantic East sweep over Saint Elizabeth. She went 5-for-7 with two runs, a double, and an RBI. McDonald hit 3-for-3 in a 9-1 nightcap victory.
Ellie Zarnawski, Neumann: Zarnawski hit .571 (4-for-7) in a split against DeSales in Neumann’s two games. She also knocked in two runs and stole a base. The first year hit an RBI single to pull the Knights to within one, 3-2, in game two over DeSales. She then singled in the tying run in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at five and go into extra innings.
Rylee Sullivan, Saint Elizabeth: Sullivan was the driving force for the Eagles against Marywood this past weekend, batting .600 (3-for-5) and driving in two for the Eagles.
