St. Mary's Sweeps Relays on First Night of Swimming at the 2026 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships

St. Mary’s City, Md. - Making a splash, St. Mary’s took home gold in both relays on the opening night of the swimming portion of the women’s swimming and diving championships. 

The hosts took home gold in the opening event, posting a 1:47.73 in the 200 medley relay. Led off by Emerson Young, she was followed by Venus Kai Judge and Kelsie Miller, before being closed out by Addison Willey. The Saints of Marymount landed second on the podium with a time of 1:49.43. Addison Muhlenkamp swam the leadoff leg, with Ilana Hawkins, Miah Lopez and Annabelle Tarrant following suit. Marywood took home the final spot, securing bronze with a time of 1:57.28. Led by Ashley Batejan, the Mighty Macs were followed by Delanie McPeak, Keira Wiley, and Hannah Barber. Cedar Crest swam a 2:13.90, good for fourth. The Bison of Gallaudet rounded out the group, touching in 3:12.18

Setting a new conference record in the 800 freestyle relay, Saint Mary’s posted an impressive time of 7:55.85. In similar fashion to the 200 medley, Young once again led off before being followed up by Mandy Cartwright, Kai Judge and Kelsie Miller. The Saints of Marymount earned silver after touching the wall in 8:03.37. Lillian Crawley kicked things off for the Saints, with Miah Lopez and Addison Muhlenkamp swimming the middle legs before Annabelle Tarrant once again closed things out. Marywood secured the final podium spot with a time of 8:34.11.  The Pacers were led by Camila Gil, Catelyn Lieser, Emerson Gellert, and Aubrey Mangan. 

Immaculata swam to a fourth place finish, clocking a time of 9:40.12 and were followed by Cedar Crest with a 10:21.63, with Gallaudet rounding out the group, posting a 14:02.12.

Day two of the championships will begin Friday, February 13th, with prelims at 10am followed by finals at 5:30 pm. Swimmers will take part in the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 freestyle, and 200 freestyle relay.
