Saints and Seahawks Highlighted in Women's Swimming and Diving Awards

HADDONFIELD, N.J.- The Atlantic East Conference announced the 2026 Women’s Swimming and Diving major award winners and All-Conference teams on Tuesday. 

Kelsie Miller of St. Mary’s was awarded her third consecutive Swimmer of the Year award, topping this season off with an NCAA B Cut time of 54.94 in the 100 butterfly. She swept all of her individual events, tying for the most individual points, adding 60 points to St. Mary’s tally. She landed atop the podium in the 200 IM, touching in 2:08.31 and the 200 butterfly, clocking a 2:09.95. She was also a part of three conference and meet record breaking relays, taking the third leg in the 200 medley relay (1:47.73), while swimming the final legs of the 800 freestyle relay (7:55.85) and 400 freestyle relay (3:35.41). 

Marymount’s Annabelle Tarrant was named the Rookie of the Year following a record setting meet. The freshman, who tied with Miller for 60 individual points, set new conference and meet records in all three of her events. She posted a 5:07.03 in prelims of the 500 freestyle before capping the night with a 5:07.76. In the 200 freestyle, Tarrant touched in 1:53.19. Going the distance, she posted a 17:41.22 in the 1650 freestyle. She also led off Marymount’s record breaking 200 freestyle relay that recorded a time of 1:38.38, while also securing gold in the 400 freestyle relay (3:38.11). Tarrant was also part of a second place 200 medley relay (1:49.43) and 800 freestyle relay (8:34.11).

Payton So, from Marymount, took home the Atlantic East Elite Scholar Athlete Award. This honor is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East’s championships. So is majoring in Health Sciences and holds a nearly perfect 3.994 GPA. Full criteria can be found here.

St. Mary’s was named Coaching Staff of the Year, tallying 775 points across the weekend. The Seahawks are led by Head Coach Casey Brandt, in his 10th season, with assistants Carolyn Sutton, Alex Marley, and Sam Meisel.
