Marymount captures Women's Flag Football Championship

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Marymount flag football kept the trophy at home, claiming their second-straight Atlantic East title on Saturday in front of the home crowd at Bishop O'Connell.

The win comes after an undefeated conference season and a defining 35-0 win in the semifinals over Immaculata.

Samantha Bulik notched her second Tournament MVP honor, with Avery DeFazio earning the Elite 20 award.

  • Cara Vollmer went 19-26 in the air, throwing 138 yards with a touchdown. She added 71 yards of rushing.
  • Carly Rivera pulled down 10 receptions for 64 yards, adding 11 yards on the ground.
  • Bulik had seven receptions for 50 yards with a touchdown.
  • Ingrid Penn and DeFazio each had a reception.
  • Bulik and Rivera each had five flag pulls in the championship game. Bulik also grabbed a pair of interceptions
  • Leslie Villegas and Yariliz Torres each had three tackles, with Torres notching a sack.
  • Yesley Xante added a pair of tackles.
