ASTON, Pa. - The 2025 Atlantic East Women’s Tennis Championship match is set after Friday’s semifinal matches.
Top seeded Pratt advanced to the title match with a 4-0 win over host Neumann, while second-seeded Marywood defeated third-seed Marymount 4-1 in the other semifinal.
The two teams will meet at 1 p.m. on Sunday for the conference title.
Pratt 4, Neumann 0 (release thanks to Pratt)
Pratt asserted its dominance early in the semifinal matchup, capturing quick wins in doubles play. Kayla Abraham and
Pallavi Verghese won at love, 6-0, in the lead match.
Beatrice Crespo and
Victoria Delgado topped their opponents, 6-1, in the No. 2 position to securing the doubles point for Pratt.
The Cannoneers continued to assert their dominance in singles play, clinching straight-set victories at the first three spots. In the No. 1 singles match, Abraham dispatched her opponent 6-1, 6-0, while Verghese at No. 2 singles posted an impressive 6-0, 6-0 sweep. Crespo sealed Pratt's overall victory at No. 3 singles with a similarly commanding 6-0, 6-0 result.
Marywood 4, Marymount 1
The Pacers took the doubles point as Kylie Kilgore and Alex Vitale won at number two flight, 6-0, with Faith Kendricks and McKenna Seavey winning at number three flight 6-0.
In singles play, Kilgore won her match at number two singles 6-2, 6-4, while Faith Hendricks defeated her opponent, 6-0, 6-1. The Pacers also picked up a victory via forfeit at number six singles.
Nikhita Simhambhalta won her match at number one flight for the Saints, 6-1, 6-0.
Pratt will be seeking its first Atlantic East Championship in Women’s Tennis, while Marywood will be after its second title, winning its first during the 2021-22 season.
