Neumann's Petruzzelli Named NCAA DIII SAAC Board Vice Chair

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has elected Dominic Petruzzelli to serve as Vice Chair. His term will last one year, ending in January 2027, aligning with the end of his position as the Atlantic East Conference representative.

"I’m honored that my National SAAC peers have nominated me to serve as the committee’s next Vice Chair. I take great pride in the trust placed in me to lead, alongside Josey (Chair Elect) and Holly (Communications Director Elect), so many incredible student-athletes who share one goal: enhancing the student-athlete experience," said Petruzzelli.

Petruzzelli joined DIII SAAC in 2023, while at Cabrini, before transferring to Neumann following the closure of Cabrini. Having chaired the Mental and Physical Health Subcommittee for the past two years, the senior has been a stark advocate for the overall betterment of the student athlete experience. "It has been an amazing experience, and I’m proud of how far we’ve taken it. Now, I’m ready for this next challenge! And, as an added bonus for me personally, I’m excited to soon be working with my brother, Enzo, as he steps into the Landmark Conference National SAAC Representative role in 2026."

He will step into this new role in January of 2026, beginning his leadership at the conclusion of the 2026 NCAA Convention. Petruzelli's work at pinnacle of DIII college athletics will also align with the starting term of new leadership, seeing Marc Camille of Albertus Magnus and Suzanne Davis of Greenville stepping into new roles as Division III Presidents Council Chair and Vice Chair, respectively.

“Dominic has been an incredible part of the Atlantic East Conference SAAC as we continue to grow the experience on our campuses. He is a great leader and always willing to step up. I am excited to see his peers recognize this with a leadership role on the national level,” said Atlantic East Commissioner Rebecca Mullen.

Division III SAAC plays a critical role in shaping the student-athlete experience within the NCAA’s largest division. The committee reviews legislation, addresses key student-athlete concerns, leads national initiatives, and builds community engagement. A key component of its mission is its partnership with the Special Olympics. The committee meets in person four times a year, with additional teleconferences as needed, ensuring continuous dialogue on issues that impact student-athletes nationwide.
