Atlantic East Sees Seven Earn United Soccer Coaches All-Region Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches (USC) association announced, on Thursday, December 4, the members of the NCAA Division III 2025 All-Region Teams, with the Atlantic East Conference placing seven players among the ranks between the men's and women's squads.

Division III teams are separated into ten regions: Region I, Region II, Region III, Region IV, Region V, and Region VI, Region VII, Region VIII, Region IX and Region X. 

On the men's side, Neumann's Jordan Illian landed on the Region V First-Team. Marymount's Jefferson Lopez Coreas earned Region V Second-Team Honors. Illian's teammate, Dominic Petruzzelli, landed a spot on the Region V Third-Team, while Coreas teammate, Erik Shoetter-Rojas found a spot on the Region V Fourth-Team.

On the women's side, Marywood's Britlyn Higgins and Carly Walters were both selected for the Region V Second-Team. Marymount's Nicole Alvarado landed a spot on the Region V Third-Team.

Male Honorees:
Jordan Illian, Neumann
- The 2025 Atlantic East Offensive Player of the Year scored a goal and had an assist in the conference semifinals, launching Neumann on its way to a 2-0 Championship win. The Millsboro, Del., native’s 31 points on the season tied for third most in program history, with his 13 goals landing him tied second. His four goal performance against Pratt, on October 11, set a program record for the most individual goals scored in a game. The junior started every game for the Knights this season, scoring 13 goals, three of which were game winners, and dishing out five assists. 

Jefferson Lopez Coreas, Marymount- The sophomore played and started 20 games this season, recording an impressive 37 points from 17 goals and three assists. The All AEC First-Team selection is a two-time player of the week, with this season highlighted by two hat tricks and eight multi-point games, leading the Marymount attack into the conference championship game.

Dominic Petruzzelli, Neumann- The 2025 Atlantic East Defensive Player of the Year anchored a defense that posted eight clean sheets, two of which came in the AEC Tournament semifinals and finals, the most since 2013. Petruzzelli and co. only conceded four goals against conference opponents across the 2025 campaign.

Erick Shoetter-Rojas, Marymount- The junior posted 20 points across his 19 games played this fall, scoring 10 goals. His three goal performance against Marywood in the conference semi-finals would push Marymount into the AEC championship game. Additionally, he scored two game-winners this season.

Female Honorees:
Britlyn Higgins, Marywood- Higgins, the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year, guided the Pacers to 16 wins, a program record. Anchoring a 10 shutout defense, Higgins and co. earned the top seed in postseason play. The 10 goals conceded on the season is also second-best in program history for fewest goals allowed, while their 14 game win streak during the season is yet another record. Individually, Higgins, played and started every single game this season, kicking off the campaign with a game-winning goal in the opening match.

Carly Walters, Marywood- The 2025 Offensive Player of the Year recorded 16 goals, averaging one goal per game, a feat that placed her ninth in the nation this fall. Adding three assists on the season, Walters totaled 35 points, averaging 2.19 per game, ranking her 14th nationally. The Springfield, Pa., native’s 13 career game winning goals is fourth-best in program history.

Nicole Alvarado, Marymount- Garnering the 2025 Rookie of the Year award, Alvarado played in all 21 games this season, starting 19. The Manassas Park, Va., native posted 27 points, coming from 11 goals and five assists. Her 11 goals are the sixth-most in a single season in program history, four of which were game-winners. She recorded a goal and assist in the conference semifinal before capping off the championship match with an assist to help the Saint earn the automatic qualifier into the NCAA DIII Women’s Soccer Tournament.
