Haddonfield. N.J. – Following the Atlantic East Preseason Coaches Poll, Marymount University was selected as most likely to win the Atlantic East Championship.
Last year's runners-up, the Saints received five first place votes and 25 overall points. With 18 newcomers this season, Marymount still returns some impactful players. Erick Schoetter Rojas tallied 10 goals in 2025, including a hat trick in the AEC Semifinal match, sending the Saints to a Championship appearance. Alex Rendon-Benitez, an AEC All-Conference defender, will look to lead from the back. Marymount opens the season against nationally ranked #6 Dickinson College.
Saint Elizabeth landed second in the poll with 18 points. The Eagles posted a 3-3-1 conference record last year, bowing out to Gwynedd Mercy in the opening round of the AEC Championship. Immaculata was third, receiving 16 votes, and will return 2025 AEC Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Conference goalkeeper Luca Greppellini, who was a mainstay for the Mighty Macs.
Gwynedd Mercy received 14 points and one first place vote, placing them fourth in the poll. Centenary followed the Griffins with 12 points, landing in fifth place, with Pratt receiving five points, good for sixth place in the poll.
Teams kick off regular season play on Tuesday, September 1st. Conference play begins on Saturday, October 3rd with Pratt hosting Gwynedd Mercy and Immaculata traveling to Centenary. Marymount heads to Immaculata and Saint Elizabeth travels to Pratt, as the Saints and Eagles kick off conference play on Wednesday, October 7th,
The 2026 Atlantic East Tournament is set to begin with a first round game on Saturday, October 31st, with the third seed hosting the sixth seed, and the fourth seed hosting the fifth seed. The semifinals will take place on Wednesday, November 4th, with the championship following on Saturday, November 7th.
