Neumann Takes Center Stage in Men's Soccer Major Awards and All-AEC Teams

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men's Soccer All-Conference teams and major awards on Wednesday, The All-Conference teams are voted on by the league's head coaches.

Neumann’s Jordan Illian was tabbed Offensive Player of the Year. The junior started every game for the Knights this season, scoring 13 goals, three of which were game winners, and dishing out five assists. He scored a goal and had an assist in the conference semifinals, launching Neumann on its way to a 2-0 Championship win. The Millsboro, Del., native’s 31 points on the season is tied for third most in program history, with his 13 goals landing him tied second. His four goal performance against Pratt, on October 11, set a program record for the most individual goals scored in a game. That same game saw Illian record 10 points, yet another program record.

Continuing the awards for Neumann was senior Dominic Petruzzelli who received the Defensive Player of the Year award. The captain anchored a defense that posted eight clean sheets, two of which came in the AEC Tournament semifinals and finals, the most since 2013. Petruzzelli and co. only conceded four goals against conference opponents across the 2025 campaign. Additionally, the now two-time Defensive Player of the Year started each game for the Knights this season, proving himself as a mainstay in the defense.

Garnering Rookie of the Year honors was Immaculata’s Luca Greppellini, a freshman from Newbury, England. He posted four shutouts on the season, the most notable being a 1-0 win against conference foe Marywood in the final game of the season. Greppellini posted 80 saves, an average of 5.71 per game, both of which are second most in the conference. He finished third in the conference with a .755 save percentage with a season-high of 14 saves on September 12 against Goucher.

Petruzzelli, who was also awarded the Defensive Player of the Year Award, took home the Atlantic East Elite Scholar Athlete Award. This honor is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East’s championships. Petruzzelli is majoring in Secondary Education-Mathematics and holds a perfect 4.0 GPA. Full criteria can be found here.

The Coaching Staff of the Year was awarded to Neumann after finishing atop the conference once again. Led by Head Coach Erik Temple, the Knights hold a 13-3-3 record, the best since 2011 when Neumann made a run into the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. In Temple’s third season at the helm, the Knights have been awarded four first team and three second team honors this season.
