LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Softball weekly award winners on Monday, as Marymount’s Jaclyn Burch was named player of the week. Shanyn Burch of Marymount and Marissa Gregory of Marywood were tabbed Co-Pitchers of the Week.

Brief Outlook of Week: After Marymount had a two-week break due to schedule changes, Jaclyn Burch came out ready to play. In their conference doubleheader against Cabrini, she finished the day 5-for-7 at the plate including three doubles and three RBIs. With a total of seven at-bats, she also completed five hits and two runs. Each week, Jaclyn Burch is a significant contribution to Marymount's team and a frequent run earner.

Brief Outlook of Week: In their first game of a conference doubleheader against Cabrini, Shanyn Burch pitched a complete game shutout while only allowing one hit. She also drove in the game's only run. She retired the 17 batters she faced, including 15 straight groundouts to end the game. With this win, Burch is now 7-2 for the 2024 season. Burch proves herself to be a vital part of the team both in and out of the circle.

Brief Outlook of Week: Gregory went 2-0 with a save and 14 strikeouts against Atlantic East competition this weekend. Over 16 ? inning, she registered a 0.86 ERA, 0.796 WHIP and a 6.0 K/7. In a doubleheader sweep over Neumann, Gregory pitched a complete game by allowing one earned run and four hits, followed by a 2 ? inning save in the nightcap. In that 5-3 win over the Knights, she got the Pacers out of a fifth inning jam with the go-ahead runner on base. Gregory capped the week with a shutout masterpiece performance against Gwynedd Mercy. She recorded 11 strikeouts and allowed just three hits on a mere 60 pitches.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Jocelyn Baumeister (Sr., Pitcher/Infield, Gwynedd Mercy): The Griffins got revenge on a 3-0 game-one shutout by Marywood with a 3-1 triumph behind an impressive performance from senior pitcher Jocelyn Baumeister in game two of the league doubleheader. Baumeister struck out 11 Pacers and scored on the first of two hits (2-for-3); she held Marywood to one run on six hits and a walk. She was also 1-for-3 in game one
Jess Oldham (Sr., Shortstop, Immaculata): Oldham went a combined 3-for-8 (.375) with one run scored, a home run and two RBIs in Immaculata's doubleheader with Centenary.
Tori Para (So., Third Base, Marywood): Para had a .571 batting average and a 1.357 OPS to lead the Pacers to a 3-1 week against Atlantic East competition. In a doubleheader sweep over Neumann, Para went 5 for 7 with three runs scored and two RBIs. She went 2 for 3 with an RBI in a victory over Gwynedd Mercy. Para finished with three doubles for the week.
