Marymount's Johnson and Centenary's Miller Tabbed Softball Players of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Softball weekly award winners on Monday, as Marymount’s Kaylynn Johnson and Centenary’s Jaelynn Miller earn Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively.

Player of the Week:
Name: Kaylynn Johnson
School: Marymount
Class: Senior
Position: Third Base/ First Base
Hometown: Alexandria, Va.
High School: Thomas A. Edison
Brief Outlook of Week: In their first game of the doubleheader at Neumann, Marymount was down 5-4 going into the bottom of the fifth. Johnson hit a home run with two on-base, bringing in 3 RBIs to secure the win over Neumann. Apart from the home run, she also had four hits, two of which were doubles, and two runs with four at-bats. In the second game, Johnson had four more at-bats, with one hit and one RBI. Johnson proves herself, yet again, to be a fundamental asset to this team.

Pitcher of the Week:
Name: Jaelynn Miller
School: Centenary
Class: Junior
Position: Pitcher/ Infield
Hometown: Oxford, N.J.
High School: Warren Hills
Brief Outlook of Week: Miller finished the week 1-0 with a five-inning complete game shutout against FDU Florham. The junior allowed four hits and one walk with eight strikeouts in the 6-0 victory.  At the plate she went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and one walk.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Jocelyn Baumeister (Sr., Pitcher/Infield, Gwynedd Mercy): Baumeister improved to 2-2 on the season with a win in the Griffins' 3-2 game-1 win versus PSU Berks. She held the Nittany Lions to two unearned runs on four hits and three walks, while striking out eight. She was also 4-for-8 with a run and 2 RBI at the plate; she was 2-for-4 with a run, and 2 RBI in the second game win (7-2) versus Cairn.

Shanyn Burch (Sr., Pitcher, Marymount): Burch secured both wins for the Saints during their doubleheader with Neumann, placing her record at 6-2. For the day, Burch pitched a total of 6 innings (2.1 in the first and 3.2 in the second). She put up two strikeouts and zero earned runs after facing 25 batters. Apart from her strong pitching, she had eight at-bats with one run, two hits, and one RBI. Each week, S. Burch proves herself as an important part of the team both in and out of the circle.

Sam Kilson (Sr., Infielder, Cabrini): Kilson had two big swings for the Cavaliers, a homerun and a 2-run go-ahead double. Kilson's solo homerun extended Cabrini's lead in Game 1 of a doubleheader with F&M, while her double put the Cavs ahead 5-4 in Game 2. The first baseman recorded 6 putouts in the first matchup.

Jess Oldham (Sr., Shortstop, Immaculata): Oldham was a combined 4-for-9 with four runs scored, a double, a triple, a home run, and seven RBIs in helping lead Immaculata to a pair of wins this past week. Oldham hit a long solo home run to left center to help start the Immaculata three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh Inning in their 8-7 win over Haverford on March 19th. She was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a double, a triple, and six RBIs in Immaculata's win over Haverford on March 21st.
