Marymount's Hawkins and Gwynedd Mercy's LoStracco Named Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Monday, with Marymount’s Ilana Hawkins and Gwynedd Mercy’s Meghan LoStracco taking home weekly track and field honors respectively.

Athlete of the Week:
Name: Ilana Hawkins
School: Marymount
Class: Sophomore
Hometown: Silver Spring. Md. 
High School: James H. Blake
Brief Outlook of Week: Sophomore Ilana Hawkins took care of business in the sprints department for the Saints at the Mason-Dixon Classic, earning first in the women's 400m with a time of 1:00.39, then placing second in the women's 200m at 26.91.

Field Athlete of the Week:
Name: Meghan LoStracco
School: Gwynedd Mercy
Class: Graduate Student
Hometown: Chalfont, Pa. 
High School: Central Bucks South
Brief Outlook of Week: LoStracco finished 41st (7.73) in the Shot Put and 22nd (34.21) in the Hammer at Widener’s Paul Donahue Invitational. Her hammer throw sits her first in the Atlantic East this season.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Maggie Friend (Fy., Immaculata): Friend finished 22nd in the javelin with a throw of 6.69 meters or 87'7" in the Paul Donahue Invitational hosted by Widener.

Jayla Gross (Fy., Immaculata): Gross ran a personal best time of 1:02.40 in the 200-meter dash and was a member of the 4 x 100 relay team that finished 13th with an Immaculata outdoor program record of 54.09 seconds in the Paul Donahue Invitational hosted by Widener.

Abby Megotz (Fy., Marywood): Megotz recorded the fastest 200-dash time in the Atlantic East this season at Moravian's Coach P Invite. She came in 14th place out of 51 runners with a wind-aided time of 26.81 seconds. Megotz also ran a 13.36-second time in the 100 dash that ranks fourth in the conference.
