LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Track and Field weekly award winners on Tuesday, as Marywood’s Rosalyn Page and Neumann’s Katie Baier won Field Athlete and Track Athlete of the Week honors respectively.
Field Athlete of the Week:
Name: Rosalyn Page
School: Marywood University
Class: Senior
Hometown: Coudersport, Pa.
High School: Coudersport
Brief Outlook of Week: Page won the discus throw at the Misericordia Invitational with a throw of 114 feet, 4 inches (34.86m). She took second in the shot put at 36 feet, 10 1/2 inches (11.24m). Page achieved PRs in the hammer throw (97-6, 29.71m) and javelin (82-7, 25.18m).
Track Athlete of the Week:
Name: Katie Baier
School: Neumann University
Class: Sophomore
Hometown: Baltimore, Md.
High School: The Catholic High School of Baltimore
Brief Outlook of Week: Katie Baier ran a personal best in the 1500m at Paul Donahue at Widener on Saturday with a time of 5:59.08. She also placed second in the 800m at the Lincoln University Invitational on Thursday with a time of 2:55.58
Weekly Honor Roll:
Kyleigh Joniec (Jr., Neumann): Kyleigh Joniec won the Javelin at the Lincoln University Invitational on Thursday. She threw a distance of 93’-2”, nine feet more than the second-place finisher.
Abby Megotz (So., Marywood): Megotz ran the third-fastest 400 hurdles time at Marywood. Competing at Moravian, she was 15th place in 1:13.28. Megotz came in 18th place in the 200 dash in 27.11 seconds. Her 400 hurdles time ranks second in the Atlantic East.
