Atlantic East Announces Women's Track and Field Major Awards and All-Conference

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference has announced its major award winners for Women’s Track and Field after the 2025 Atlantic East Championship. The award winners were nominated by their coaches, based on their performances at the championship meet. 

Lany Straub from Marywood was named as the Track Athlete of the Year, while Kaeden Green from Pratt was named the Field Athlete of the Year. 

Fanta Dukuly of Gwynedd Mercy was named as the Rookie of the Year, with Gabby Snee of Marywood named the Elite 20 Winner, given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the championship site.

Marymount University was named as the Coaching Staff of the Year by their peers. 

In addition, student-athletes who won their events were named first-team All-AEC, while student-athletes who finished second were named second-team All-AEC. 

Straub took first place in the 5K, 10K and steeplechase. She won the 5K in 19:07.31 and the 10K in 42:27.71. Straub clocked in at 12:52.57 for first place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She came in fourth in the 1,500 and fifth in the 800.

Green earned the lone gold medal for the Cannoneers on the weekend in the triple jump with a mark of 10.99 meters and added silver medal honors in the long jump with a leap of 5.15 meters. Green was part of the silver-medal winning 4x100 quartet comprised of Kate Nolan, Green, Kayla Galvan and Siena Sujitno, that clocked in a 52.53.

Dukuly made a splash in her AEC Championships debut with a first-place finish in the 100-Meter (12.82) and a second-place finish in the 200-Meter (26.68).

Snee, a Early Childhood Education & Elementary Education/Special Education major with a 3.948 GPA, ran to a third place performance in the steeplechase. She clocked in at 13:38.26.

Finally, Marymount won its third-straight Atlantic East title.
