Marymount's Conklin-Boone and Rivera Sweep Women's Track and Field Weekly Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Monday, with Marymount’s Deziree Conklin-Boone and Isabella Rivera sweeping weekly track and field honors.

Athlete of the Week:
Name: Deziree Conklin-Boone
School: Marymount
Class: Junior
Hometown: Virginia Beach, Va.  
High School: Tallwood
Brief Outlook of Week: Deziree Conklin-Boone took 15th out of 30 participants, primarily against Division I talent at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational at George Mason, in the women's 400m hurdle event with a time of 1:07.95.

Field Athlete of the Week:
Name: Isabella Rivera
School: Marymount
Class: First Year
Hometown: Leesburg, Va.  
High School: Independence
Brief Outlook of Week: Rivera notched a strong second place finish in the women's discus at 29.87m at the Bison Classic over the weekend. She also finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 9.44m and a seventh spot in the hammer at 27.51m.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Maggie Friend (Fy., Immaculata): Friend competing in the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival finished third in the Javelin with a throw of 30.46 meters or 99'11".

Jayla Gross (Fy., Immaculata): Gross competing in the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival finished seventh with an Immaculata outdoor program record time of 27.13. Was a member of the 4 x 100-meter relay team that finished third with a time of 4:31.38.

Allison Siravo (So., Neumann): Siravo had two personal bests at the Delaware Invitational. In the discus, the sophomore threw 80'-9". Not to be outdone in the hammer throw, she threw 91'-6".

Lany Straub (Jr., Marywood): Straub won a pair of events at the Misericordia Twilight meet this week. She took first place in the 3,000 Steeplechase with a time of 12:05.3. Straub claimed the top spot in her first-ever 400 hurdles run, crossing the finish in 1:25.2.
