Cabrini Wins Fourth Straight Men's Swimming Title

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD – The Cabrini men's swim team captured its fourth consecutive Atlantic East Conference title today, as it completed a dominant performance at this weekend's championship meet.

The Cavaliers won 12 of the 18 events over the weekend to amass 691 total points, outpacing Marymount, who finished second with 454 points. Championship host St. Mary's (MD) placed third with 450 points.

Senior Cameron Mousley got the Cavaliers off to a great start in his final collegiate swim. The senior set meet and conference record in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:57.58 to win his third gold medal in the event.

Similarly, fellow senior Mac Granto claimed his third consecutive conference title in the 100-yard freestyle, reaching the wall in 48.21 seconds.   

Sophomore Michael Gray also climbed to the top of the podium, posting a winning time of 2:15.62 in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Fellow sophomore Tommy Ronayne collected his third individual gold medal of the weekend. The sophomore's victorious time of 1:57.65 in the 200-yard breaststroke set conference and meet records and marked his second straight title in the event.

The men also fell just .03 seconds shy of sweeping this weekend's relay events, as the quartet of Gray, Ronayne, sophomore Tom McLaughlin and Granto's time of 3:13.97 was good for second.
