LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men's Basketball Players of the Week on Monday, as Neumann’s Jalen Vaughns earned Player of the Week, while Cabrini’s Bayers was named Defensive Player of the Week.

School: Neumann University

Position: Forward/Guard
Hometown: Tobyhanna, Pa.
High School: Pocono Mountain West
Brief Outlook of Week: Jalen Vaughns averaged 26.0 points and 12.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for Neumann. The junior notched his sixth double-double of the season at Lancaster Bible with 24 points and 16 rebounds. In a close win over Salisbury, Vaughns netted 28 points and nine rebounds.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Ryan Byars
School: Cabrini University
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
Hometown: Baltimore, Md.
High School: New Town
Brief Outlook of Week: Byars was a key contributor on defense as the Cavaliers finished the week 1-0. The senior finished the game with 12 rebounds and four steals in the win over Moravian. Cabrini held Moravian to just 24 second half points to win the game 64-62.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Aquil Stewart (So., G, Cabrini): Scored 24 points in a win over Moravian and had the assist on a game-winning basket. Second-straight 20-point game.
Caleb Vigil (So., G, Marywood): Vigil averaged just six points heading into the week, but adjusted to his newfound starting role with 18.3 points per game to lead Marywood to a 1-2 week. Vigil had a double-double of 24 points and 10 assists in an overtime thriller against Keystone. He assisted the game-winning 3-pointer to Trevor Seitz at the buzzer to defeat the Giants. He followed the with 20 points in a narrow three-point loss to Manhattanville. Vigil had 11 points against Lycoming.
