Women's Volleyball 9/20/2021 1:02:09 PM Doyle, Bizzaro Earn Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors LANCASTER, Pa. - On Monday afternoon, the Atlantic East Conference released the Women's Volleyball weekly honors. Kaitlyn Doyle of Marymount University earned player of the week while Centenary's Alyssa Bizzaro earned speciality player of the week. Player of the Week: Name: Kaitlyn Doyle School: Marymount University Class: Junior Position: Outside Hitter Hometown: Hernando, Miss. High School: Wallace State C.C. Brief Outlook of Week: Doyle carried the Saints'offense in a battle against No. 1-nationally ranked Johns Hopkins University last week. The junior floored a match-high 11 kills and swung at an impressive .308 clip. She rounded out her stat line with three digs and one ace. The match marked Doyle's third straight with double-digit kills. Specialty Player of the Week: Name: Alyssa Bizzaro School: Centenary University Class: Sophomore Position: Outside Hitter Hometown: Hackettstown, NJ High School: Hackettstown Brief Outlook of Week: Bizzarro averaged eight service aces per match while helping the Cyclones split their two contests last week. The sophomore finished the week with 16 service aces, 13 kills and nine digs. In the win over Cheyney, Bizzarro led the team with 15 service aces, which is believed to be one of the highest totals by an NCAA Division III player this year. She also had eight kills and two digs in the contest. In Monday's loss to FDU Florham, Bizzarro contributed five kills, seven digs and one ace. Weekly Honor Roll: Isabelle Davis (Immaculata / Junior): Davis contributed to the Macs win over Bryn Mawr both offensively and defensively as she ended the night second on the team kills with nine while tying for the team lead in aces with three while also registering 22 digs to help hold off the Bryn Mawr attack and complete the comeback effort.
