Marymount Bows Out to Colby in Women's Volleyball NCAA Opening Round

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- Marymount women's volleyball ended their season on Thursday afternoon in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament at Wesleyan (Conn.) University, facing off against Colby College.

Marking their fourth-straight appearance in the Big Dance, the Saints complete their year with an overall record of 17-17, winning another AEC Championship and notching a perfect 7-0 record in AEC play.

NOTABLE
  • Johanna Modica wrapped up her career with a team-high 11.0 points in the First Round match up. She knocked nine kills on a .158 percentage with two block assists and three digs.
  • Hailey LaBonte, the AEC Rookie of the Year, racked up 8.0 points on eight kills with a .227 hitting percentage. She added six digs to her line.
  • Elizabeth Stackpole, who was announced as a Second Team All-Conference recipient earlier this week, had a solo block and two block assists in the match, adding three kills.
  • Sabrina Schoeberlein had five kills and four digs.
  • Ava Humphries, the Atlantic East Player of the Year, had 17 digs in the contest.
  • Jessica Rothermel notched 11 assists, with Emerson Aber adding eight. Aber also had nine digs in the match.
  • Renae Rohrer added six digs and three assists for the Saints.
