Marymount Blanco and Dufour Tabbed as Women's Soccer Players of the Week

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Soccer weekly award winners on Monday, with Arianna Blanco being named Player of the Week and Mara Dufour being named Defensive Player of the Week.

Player of the Week: Arianna Blanco
School: Marymount
Class: Sophomore
Position: Forward
Hometown: Manassas Park, Va.
High School: Manassas Park
Brief Outlook of Week: Sophomore forward Blanco netted a pair of goals in the Saints' 3-0 win over Delaware Valley on Saturday. In the match, she had five total shots, all on goal. She knocked in the game winning goal.

Defensive Player of the Week: Mara Dufour
School: Marymount
Class: Junior
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Ashburn, Va.
High School: Broad Run
Brief Outlook of Week: In the net, junior Mara Dufour put up a pair of shutout performances for the Saints last week, including not allowing a goal against Christopher Newport, who are receiving votes on the national poll. She knocked away six total saves on the week, while dropping her goals allowed average down to 1.41 this season.

 

Weekly Honor Roll:

Devan Cosgrove, Immaculata:  Cosgrove helped Immaculata extend its winning streak to five matches with strong performances in goal during a 2-1 win over Delaware Valley and a 2-0 shutout of DeSales. Cosgrove played the second half against Delaware Valley, making one save, before recording two saves in the first half against DeSales to help preserve the clean sheet. Across the two matches, she recorded three saves while contributing to an Immaculata defense that allowed just one goal and posted a shutout during the week.

Gracie Repici, Immaculata: Repici played a pivotal role in helping Immaculata University extend its winning streak to five games, contributing to victories over Delaware Valley University and DeSales University during the week of September 21-27. Repici scored the game-winning goal in Immaculata's 2-0 victory over DeSales on September 23, putting the Mighty Macs in front and helping them secure their fifth consecutive victory.
