Immaculata's Corkery and Marymount's Struggs Take Home Men's Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly award winners on Monday, with Immaculata’s Colin Corkery being named Track Athlete of the Week and Marymount’s Sam Struggs being named Field Athlete  of the Week.

Track Athlete of the Week: Sam Struggs
School: Marymount
Class: Senior
Hometown: Sugar Land, Texas
High School: Fort Bend Travis
Brief Outlook of Week: Struggs ran to a first place finish in the men's 100m dash on Saturday at the Eastern Short Challenge, notching a time of 10.79. Struggs also made history at the meet as a leg in the 4x400, breaking the school record with an overall time of 3:31.30.

Field Athlete of the Week: Colin Corkery
School: Immaculata
Class: Freshman
Hometown: Haverford, Pa.
High School: Haverford High
Brief Outlook of Week: Corkery had a standout performance at the Misericordia Invitational, delivering multiple top finishes and record-breaking throws.He placed 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 13.56 meters, setting both an Indiana University (IU) program record and an Atlantic East Conference record. Notably, he broke the records on his first throw, then surpassed them again on his third attempt. He took 4th in the hammer throw with 42.23 meters, setting another IU program record, and finished 7th in the discus with a throw of 36.74 meters.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Conner Brennan, Gwynedd Mercy: Brennan earned the Griffins 4 points toward their 10th-place finish (10th of 15, 10 points) at the Millersville University Invitational with his 4th-place finish (16:14.82) in the 5,000-Meter.

Tyson Scheitrum, Gwynedd Mercy: Scheitrum landed a 4th-place finish (42.23) in the Hammer. He also placed 8th (36.62) in the Discus and 14th (11.84) in the Shot Put.

Raidan Francis, Marywood: Francis finished runner-up in the 800 at Misericordia. He completed the race in 2:01.01. His time is ranked first in the Atlantic East performance list. 

Daniel Lauersen, Marywood: Lauersen came in second place in the pole vault at Misericordia. He cleared a mark of 12 feet, 2 ¾ inches (3.73m). His height ranked second all-time in school history and first overall in the Atlantic East. 

Christopher Clarke-Stokes, Saint Elizabeth: Clarke-Stokes placed 1st in shot for the Pratt Duals with a final throw of 11.31m (37-01.25). Clarke-Stokes would then take 2nd in the Pratt Invitational with a shot throw of 10.69m (35-0.75).
