Marywood's Cardillo and Immaculata's Corkery Take Home Men's Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly award winners on Monday, with Joseph Cardillo of Marywood being named Track Athlete of the Week and Colin Corkery of Immaculata being named Field Athlete of the Week.

School: Marywood
Class: Senior
Hometown: Dunmore, Pa.
High School: Dunmore
Brief Outlook of Week: Cardillo broke the Marywood school record in the 10,000-meter run at Widener's Danny Curran Invitational. He finished eighth among collegiate runners out of 59 participants. Cardillo finished in 31:33 to break Bryce Ryder's record by 11 seconds. He ranks first in the Atlantic East and fifth in the Mid-Atlantic Region. 

Field Athlete of the Week: Colin Corkery
School: Immaculata
Class: Freshman
Hometown: Haverford, Pa.
High School: Haverford High
Brief Outlook of Week: Corkery delivered a record-breaking performance for Immaculata at the LVC Blue & White Open, setting a new Atlantic East Conference record and personal best in the shot put with a mark of 13.12 meters, leading the way for the Mighty Macs. He continued his standout day in the hammer throw, placing 10th overall while rewriting the program record books. Corkery launched a throw of 38.15 meters to establish a new Immaculata record on his very first attempt—then surpassed his own mark on his very next throw to solidify the achievement. Rounding out his performance, Corkery added a 12th-place finish in the discus with a throw of 36.62 meters.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Tyson Scheitrum, Gwynedd Mercy: Scheitrum competed at the Widener University's Danny Curran Invitational, finishing ninth in the discus (41.30), a Red and Gold all-time record distance. The sophomore threw the Shot Put for a season's best 11.22 meters and placed 47th in the event. In the Hammer, he placed 27th (37.49).

Jaythan Dumas, Marymount: Dumas earned two top-five finishes at the Doc Jopson Invitational over the weekend, coming across third in the 200 meter dash (22.15) and fourth in the 100 meter dash (10.89).

Jordana Halpern, Pratt: Halpern had a runner-up finish in the shot put in Pratt's outdoor season opener at The Big Hurt Invite, hosted by St. John's. Her hurled a best throw of 9.55 meters, which was her second-best career toss.

Tye-Rell Monroe, Saint Elizabeth: A 2nd place finisher in the High Jump, in the Battle of Madison Ave. clearing a height of 1.75m (5-08.75).
