Marywood's Tomasetti and Zambetti Sweep Women's Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly award winners on Monday, with Marywood’s Elizabeth Tomasetti being named Track Athlete of the Week and Leah Zambetti being named Field Athlete of the Week.

Track Athlete of the Week: Elizabeth Tomasetti
School: Marywood
Class: Freshman
Hometown: Drexel Hill, Pa.
High School: Monsignor Brenner
Brief Outlook of Week: Tomasetti opened her collegiate career with an individual win at the King's Monarch Open. She ran a 400 hurdles in 1:12.19 for first place. Her time ranks first in the Atlantic East and third all-time at Marywood. A week later, she ran the fifth-best 100 hurdles time in Marywood history, finishing in 17.6 seconds at Widener. Tomasetti finished 20th overall in the race. Her 4x400 relay team finished fifth at Widener and broke a school record by three seconds in 4:11.42.

School: Marywood
Class: Senior
Hometown: Yatesville, Pa.
High School: Pittston Area
Brief Outlook of Week: Zambetti won the javelin at the King's Monarch Invite, highlighted by a throw of 87 feet, 2 inches (26.58). She was also fourth place in the discus (31.57m), fourth in the high jump (1.26m) and sixth in the hammer (26.58m). Zambetti was sixth overall in the javelin at Widener with a throw of 34.8m. 


Weekly Honor Roll:
Fanta Dukuly, Gwynedd Mercy: Dukuly finished 32nd in the 100-Meter competition (12.99), and 32nd in the 200-Meter (26.83).

Kaitlyn Snyder, Gwynedd Mercy: Snyder headlined Gwynedd’s day with a fourth-place Javelin (4th, 35.21) throw at Widener University's Danny Curran Invitational.

Maggie Friend, Immaculata: Friend turned in a strong all-around performance at the LVC Blue & White Open. She placed 15th while setting an IU program record in the hammer throw with a mark of 25.03 meters (82'1"). Friend also finished ninth in the discus with a personal-best throw of 28.12 meters (92'3"), took 21st in the shot put with a mark of 7.70 meters (25'3.25"), and added a seventh-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 27.71 meters (90'11").

Abby Grillo, Immaculata: Grillo delivered an impressive performance at the LVC Blue & White Open. She captured first place in the 400-meter dash, setting a new program record with a time of 1:00.46. Grillo also earned a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, recording a personal best of 27.61. In addition, she contributed to the 4x400-meter relay team, which secured second place with a time of 4:27.40.

Ilana Hawkins, Marymount: Hawkins put up a second-place finish in the women's 400 dash, notching a time of 57.79.

Abby Hughes, Marymount: Hughes notched a fourth place finish in javelin at the Doc Jopson Invitational, hitting a mark of 90' 2 ½".

Melis Kavikoglu, Pratt: Kavlicoglu turned in a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter run at St. John's Big Hurt Invite. She clocked in at 2:25.95 and was the top D3 finisher in the event.
