Centenary Sweeps Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors with Poppy Skjonnemand and Rey Bennett

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Volleyball weekly award winners on Monday as Centenary swept the awards, with Poppy Skjonnemand and Ray Bennett being named Player and Specialty Player of the Week, respectively.

Player of the Week: Poppy Skjonnemand
School: Centenary

Hometown: Southampton, U.K.
High School: West Morris Mendham
Brief Outlook of Week: In a 3-1 week for the Cyclones, Skjonnemand dominated at the net. Across the three wins for the Cyclones she contributed 52 kills along with 18 digs. Her 16 kills against Mount St. Mary (N.Y.) launched the junior over the 500-kill career mark. She added 17 kills in the win against Penn State Brandywine with 19 in a five set win over Wilson. The Southampton, U.K. native averaged 3.69 kills per set and 4.47 points per set across the four games, tallying a total of 71.5 points.

Brief Outlook of Week: Bennet continued to shine defensively as the Cyclones went 3-1 on the week. The freshman eclipsed 100 career digs through her first five collegiate games, racking up 86 this week. She had a game-high 25 digs a five-set win over Wilson, adding 20 and 22 digs in wins against Moun. St. Mary (N.Y.) and Penn State Brandywine. Rounding out the week, the Prescott, Ariz., native added seven kills in the lone loss for the Cyclones along with 19 digs. Bennett averaged 5.38 digs per set and added 16 points to her season tally across four games.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Charlotte Pugh, Gwynedd Mercy: In the Griffins' lone match of the week, Pugh finished with a team-high 15 points across the four sets. The senior tallied 14 kills, one solo block, five assists and seven digs on the day.

Catie Woolf, Marywood: Woolf totaled 74 digs, averaging 4.93 per set, leading the Pacers to a 3-1 week. The sophomore recorded 12 digs in a three-set win over Albright, tallying four aces and 26 digs to defeat Delaware Valley two days later. She had 18 digs against both Penn State Harrisburg and Widener. With a perfect 66 receptions, she also recorded 14 assists and seven points across the Pacers' four matches.

Taylor Hallam, Marywood: Hallam led the Pacers with 43 kills, 11 blocks, and 53.5 points in a week that saw the Pacers go 3-1. Hallam had 13 kills, good for a .429 hitting percentage, in a three-set win over Albright. The junior totaled 12 kills and four blocks in a four-set win against Delaware Valley before closing the week with nine kills against both Penn State Harrisburg and Widener. Over four matches, she recorded a 3.57 points per set average alongside an average of 2.87 kills per set.

Alyssa Wells, Saint Elizabeth: Wells remained a stronhold in the Eagles' defense, recording 46 digs across three matches, averaging 4.60 digs per set, alongside seven assist through three matches.

Dadlyna Louis, Saint Elizabeth: Louis was be a driving force for the Eagles, picking up 29 kills en route to a 2-1 week. Louis totaled 38.5 points on the week, along with 6 solo blocks and one block assist. The East Orange, N.J., native averaged a .490 hitting percentage in conjunction with 3.85 points per set.
