Top Seeds Advance to AEC Women's Volleyball Championship Match

HADDONFIELD, N.J. – No. 1 Marymount and No. 2 Marywood advance to the Atlantic East Championship game after semifinal victories.

Both sides won in straight sets, with No. 1 Marymount defeating No. 4 Neumann 3-0 at athe 6pm game before No. 2 Marywood took home a 3-0 win against No. 3 Immaculata.

Marymount will host the Atlantic East Championship match which will be held at the on Saturday, November 15 at 2pm. The winner will earn the conference’s automatic qualifier into the 2025 NCAA DIII Women's volleyball Championship.

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Marymount women's volleyball looks to claim their fourth-straight Atlantic East Title after securing their spot in the Championship Round with a commanding 3-0 Semifinal win over Neumann Thursday evening.

The Saints will host the Championship this Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 PM.

NOTABLE
  • Hailey LaBonte led the Saints with 13 kills, hitting at a .281 clip, alongside four digs and an ace, good for 14.0 points. 
  • Johanna Modica also put together 14.0 points, knocking 10 kills with a .316 hitting percentage, adding four aces and digs apiece.
  • Elizabeth Stackpole had seven kills and a block assist, knocking at an impressive .357 percentage for 8.0 digs.
  • Sabrina Schoeberlein had seven kills with three digs in the decisive win.
  • Olivia Silfies added four kills in the match.
  • Jessica Rothermel and Emerson Aber split assisting duties, each notching 18 assists on the day.
  • Ava Humphries had 11 digs with three aces. 
  • Caylee Walsh added four digs for Marymount.

  • Marymount will host the Atlantic East Championship this Saturday at 2 PM, looking to claim their fourth-straight AEC Championship and trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Scranton, Pa. — Second-seeded Marywood University advanced to the Atlantic East Conference volleyball championships for the first time with a 3-0 victory over No. 3 Immaculata University on Thursday. The Pacers will appear in their first conference title game since the 1993 season. 

In just their second-ever playoff game between the two teams, the Pacers ousted the Mighty Macs by 25-13, 25-15, 25-13 scores. 

Marywood will travel to defending champion Marymount University on Saturday. The Pacers and Saints will take on each other on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Taylor Hallam finished with a team-high 16 points on 11 kills. Hallam added five aces for a .435 hitting percentage.

Emilie Agnoli added eight aces, tying for fifth all-time at Marywood. 

Ayla Bransford recorded 31 assists. Bransford moved to second all-time with 872 single-season assists. 

Carolina Samaniego provided nine kills.

Marywood shot .259 for the match to the Mighty Macs' .082. The Pacers dominated the service game by a 18-3 margin. 

The Pacers jumped out to a 21-5 lead in the first half. On the Pacers' second serve, Agnoli had three aces in four points. Hallam recorded five consecutive kills. 

In the second set, Agnoli recorded four straight aces. Leading 20-15, the Pacers closed out the set with five straight points off of Bransford servces.

Marywood went on an eight-point run to break open a 5-5 lead off of Hallam serves. 

It is Marywood's third overall championship appearance. The Pacers reached the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference championship games in 1992 and 1993.
