LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Track and Field weekly award winners on Tuesday, as Marywood’s Brandon Reed and Neumann’s Jodi Johnson won Field Athlete and Track Athlete of the Week honors respectively.
Field Athlete of the Week:
Name: Brandon Reed
School: Marywood University
Class: Senior
Hometown: Taylor, Pa.
High School: Riverside
Brief Outlook of Week: Reed helped the Pacers at both Misericordia and Moravian this week. He produced the second-best triple jump in school history with a of 39 feet, 11 ½ inches (12.18m) for fifth place at Misericordia. At Moravian, he came in sixth place in the long jump at 20 feet, 9 1/4 inches (6.33m).
Track Athlete of the Week:
Name: Jodi Johnson
School: Neumann University
Class: Graduate Student
Hometown: Seaford, Del.
High School: Sussex Tech
Brief Outlook of Week: Jodi Johnson ran three season-bests time on the two meets. At Lincoln, Johnson ran the 400m with a time of 51.63. He also finished second in the 800m with a time of 2:04.55. On Saturday at Paul Donohue, the graduate student ran personal bests on both the 800 (1:56.31) and 1500m (4:12.61).
Weekly Honor Roll:
Thomas Lee (Sr., Marywood): Lee helped the Pacers at both Moravian and Misericordia this week. He was the 16th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a 10:52.92 at Moravian — ranking second in the Atlantic East. At Misericordia, he was seventh in the 800 at 2:04.78 and in the 5K in 16:52.69.
