Centenary's Updyke, Neumann's DuPont win final Women's Basketball awards of season

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Basketball weekly award winners on Monday, as Centenary's Brie Opdyke and Neumann's Emily DuPont won Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors respectively.

Brief Outlook of Week: Brie Opdyke secured a massive win for the Cyclones in their 1-0 week. Brie tallied 15 points on 6-11 shooting from the field while adding in a 1-2 performance from the three-point line and 2-3 from the charity stripe. Brie stuffed the stat sheet with 8 rebounds, 4 assist, and 2 blocks in her dominate showing to secure a home playoff game for the Cyclones.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Emily DuPont
School: Neumann University
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
Hometown: Malvern, Pa.   
High School: Great Valley
Brief Outlook of Week: Emily DuPont averaged 19.0 points and 9.5 rebounds as Neumann wrapped up the regular season with two wins. In Neumann's first win over Marymount in conference action, the senior scored 20 points while grabbing six rebounds and three steals in the 49-46 win. She followed with a double-double against Gwynedd Mercy in a 64-55 win to wrap up the season. DuPont had 18 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and three blocks as the Knights head into the postseason as the No. 3 seed.
 
Weekly Honor Roll:
Erin Eisenhart (Jr., Gwynedd Mercy):
In the final week of the AEC and regular season schedules, Eisenhart totaled 21 points, nine rebounds, and an assist in a 78-74 loss to Centenary University (N.J.), before finishing the season with seven points, eight rebounds, and two steals in a 64-55 loss to Neumann University.

Riley Cassidy (Jr., Immaculata): Riley Cassidy came off the bench to score a career-high 21 points, shooting 8-11 (.727) from the field, 3-5 (.600) from beyond the arc, with a rebound and a steal in helping lead Immaculata to a win over Marywood in their final regular season game on February 18th.

Lindsay Holden (Jr., Neumann): Lindsay Holden averaged 15.0 points in a 2-0 week for Neumann to wrap up the regular season and seal the No. 3 seed. In Neumann's first win over Marymount in conference action, the junior scored 10 points. She followed with 20 points, including five three-pointers, in a 64-55 win at Gwynedd Mercy.

Carly Coleman (Fr., Immaculata): Carly Coleman had 12 rebounds, with blocked shot, and two steals to go along with 17 points in 25 minutes of playing time in Immaculata's win over Marywood in their regular season finale.
