Gwynedd Mercy's Snead and Neumann's Dupriest Score Men's Basketball Weekly Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Basketball weekly award winners on Monday, as Gwynedd Mercy’s Jalen Snead was named Player of the Week and Donte Dupriest of Neumann was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Player of the Week: Jalen Snead
School: Gwynedd Mercy
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa.
High School: Archbishop Ryan
Brief Outlook of Week: Snead had a breakout week with back-to-back career games. The Red and Gold captain went for 24 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals, and a block in a 94-80 win over Eastern University, before contributing 34 points, five rebounds, five steals, and four assists in a 93-85 victory at the University of Valley Forge. He averaged 29 points, six rebounds, 4.5 assists, and four steals, shooting 76% with a perfect 100% from behind the arc, between the two contests. 

Defensive Player of the Week: Donte Dupriest
School: Neumann
Class: Senior
Position: Forward
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa.
High School: John Bartram
Brief Outlook of Week: Dupriest averaged 30 points and 16 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Knights. To open the week, the senior scored 27 points, had 12 boards, three steals and two assists in a 93-82 win at Widener. He followed with 34 points, 20 rebounds, three assists and one steal in an 87-77 win against Penn State Abington, additionally going 10-for-11 from the line. Of his total rebounds, 19 of them were defensive.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Michel Loftin, Marywood:
Loftin led the Pacers to a pair of wins with 17.5 points per game. In a victory over Hartwick, he scored 21 points with five assists and eight rebounds. Loftin added 14 points and three steals in a win over Rosemont. 

DJ Earl, Neumann: Earl averaged 23.5 rebounds and 4.5 rebounds in an undefeated week for Neumann. In a 93-82 win at Widener, the senior had 22 points and 4 boards. He also had six assists and five steals. Back home against Penn State Abington, Earl scored 25 points and picked up five rebounds in an 87-77 win.

Jonathan Quiles, Saint Elizabeth: Quiles picked up 20 points while shooting near 54% from the field. Quiles also was able to pick up four boards for the Eagles, along with two assists, and a steal for the Eagle
