Marywood Sweeps Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors with Hallam and Bransford

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Volleyball weekly award winners on Monday Marywood’s Taylor Hallam and Ayla Bransford earned Player and Specialty Player of the Week honors, respectively.

Player of the Week: Taylor Hallam
School: Marywood
Class: Junior
Position: Middle Blocker
Hometown: Harrisburg, Pa.
High School: Central Dauphin East
Brief Outlook of Week: Hallam led Marywood to a 3-0 win over Wilkes in its only contest of the week. The junior finished with 23.5 points with 14 kills, five aces and eight total blocks. Hallam's .565 attack percentage ties for sixth all-time in a single match, while her eight total blocks ties for fourth all-time at Marywood. The Harrisburg, Pa., native averaged 7.83 points per set.


Specialty Player of the Week: Ayla Bransford
School: Marywood
Class: Freshman
Position: Setter
Hometown: Colorado Springs, Colo.
High School: Pine Creek
Brief Outlook of Week: Bransford collected 30 assists in a three-set win over Wilkes in Marywood's only contest this week. It is her sixth 30-assist match of the season. The freshman averaged 10 assists per set and added two blocks to her name.

 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Kate Etter, Gwynedd Mercy:
The Griffins won a five set thriller in their only match this week with Etter leading with a game-high 20.5 points. Etter finished with 18 kills, 12 digs, two aces, and one block assist. 

Ava Humphries, Marymount: Humphries averaged 4.78 digs per set across the Saints' week of action, adding a service ace and a pair of kills. She had a week-high 21 digs in Marymount's AEC win over Saint Elizabeth on Thursday evening.

Hailey LaBonte, Marymount: Through the Saints' three matches last week, Hailey LaBonte averaged 2.94 points per set on 21 total kills, 2.33 per set, and 11 digs, 1.22 per set. She hit .280 through the week of competition. In Marymount's AEC sweep over Saint Elizabeth on Thursday, the first-year had 11 kills on a .647 hitting percentage, totaling 12.0 total points. 

Julia Solomon, Neumann: Solomon tallied 20 kills and a .529 hitting percentage in a 3-2 win at Arcadia in Neumann’s lone match of the week. In 34 attempts, the sophomore had just two errors. She also had two block assists and two digs.
