Centenary's Magrino and Marywood's Morrison Score Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Soccer weekly award winners on Monday, with Centenary’s Jenna Magrino receiving Player of the Week and Marywood’s Genevieve Morrison receiving Defensive Player of the Week.

Player of the Week: Jenna Magrino
School: Centenary
Class: Sophomore
Position: Forward
Hometown: Old Bridge, N.J.
High School: Old Bridge
Brief Outlook of Week: Magrino put together a stellar week, netting five goals across two games in a 1-0-1 week for the Cyclones. On Tuesday, she scored a goal in the 2-2 draw, and followed that with four goals in a conference win over St. Elizabeth on the road. 

Defensive Player of the Week: Genevieve Morrison
School: Marywood
Class: Sophomore
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Northfield, N.J.
High School: Midland Regional
Brief Outlook of Week: In a critical AEC matchup, Morrison earned a clean sheet, posting seven saves in a 1-0 win at Marymount. She set a career-high for saves and recorded her sixth shutout of the season.

 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Gabby Palladino, Immaculata: Palladino delivered a strong attacking display in Immaculata’s matchup at Pratt on Saturday. She scored two goals and recorded seven shot attempts, five of which were on goal.

Arianna Garcia, Marymount: Garcia netted a pair of goals in the Saints' decisive win over Saint Elizabeth on Wednesday, including the game winner just eight minutes in.

Mara Dufour, Marymount: DuFour put up 120 minutes in the net for the Saints across their 1-0-1 week, allowing just one goal in a tight 1-0 loss to Marywood on Saturday with six total saves.

Carly Walter, Marywood: Walters scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Marymount on Saturday to remain top of the table. In the 23rd minute, Walters collapsed in on a tipped Faith Meals corner kick at the line for her conference-leading 14th goal of the season. 

Julianna Hatt, Neumann: Hatt scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy in the 35th minute. She finished the game with four shots, two of which were on target. 

Emma Gaspari, Pratt: The senior goalkeeper anchored Pratt’s defense in its 4-2 Senior Day win over Immaculata. Gaspari posted a season-high eight saves, including five in the second half, as she weathered a barrage of 17 shots yielding a .800 save percentage

Kat Thomsen, Pratt: Thomsen fueled Pratt’s attack in a 4-2 victory over Immaculata. The senior recorded three points, scoring once and assisting on another goal to cap the Cannoneers’ highest-scoring conference match of the season.
