Marymount Sweeps Commissioner Cup and Mike Drass Trophy with Record Setting Year

LANCASTER, Pa. – At the end of the 2023-24 year, Marymount wins its second straight Mike Drass and Men’s and Women’s Commissioner’s Trophies.

The Mike Drass Trophy is named after the late Mike Drass, Former Athletic Director and Football Coach for Wesley College. Drass was the AD for the Wolverines from May 2003 until his passing in May 2018. He also coached one of the most successful DIII football programs for 26 seasons. He was an instrumental piece to the seven founding members of the Atlantic East Conference.
 
Marymount finished back-to-back winners with the most points in conference history at 173. The Saints finished with a record 12 conference titles for the year including repeat titles in women’s golf, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s swimming, men’s and women’s tennis, women’s track and field, and women’s volleyball. Marymount took home first time crowns in women’s soccer, men’s golf, and the Saints won the first ever women’s flag football championship.
 
Marywood landed second overall in both commissioner cup standings as well as the Mike Drass Trophy. The Pacers were led by conference titles in men’s and women’s cross country as well as men’s track and field. Marywood also finished as the conference runner up in women’s soccer, field hockey, and women’s tennis.  
 
Immaculata used a runner up finish in women’s flag football and a third straight baseball crown to finish third in the Mike Drass Standings with 83 points. The Mighty Macs were fourth in both the men’s and women’s commissioners ranking. Immaculata beat out Cabrini by just three points in the Mike Drass Standings. Cabrini finished third in the Men’s standings with a conference title in lacrosse and runner up finish in baseball, golf and soccer. On the women’s side the Cavaliers were fifth with a title in lacrosse and a runner up finish in golf.

Neumann landed fifth with 78 points, 32 on the men’s side for fifth place there, while they were third on the women’s side with 46 points. The Knights earned a conference title in men’s soccer, while finishing as the conference runner up in women’s volleyball, women’s basketball, and men’s tennis. Gwynedd Mercy is next in the overall with a sixth place finish in the Commissioners Cups and Mike Drass Trophy, while Centenary closes out the final standings.
