Gwynedd Mercy's Stewart, Snead awarded Men's Basketball Weekly Awards

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Basketball weekly award winners on Monday, as Gwynedd Mercy’s Aquil Stewart and Jalen Snead won Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors respectively.

Player of the Week:
Name: Aquil Stewart
School:  Gwynedd Mercy University
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa.
High School: Girard College
Brief Outlook of Week: Stewart contributed nine points, four rebounds, an assist, and two steals to the Griffins' 73-70 win over Cairn University before catching fire in an 83-69 triumph over Lebanon Valley College; he hit 6-of-11 (.545) from long range in a 20-point performance against the Dutchmen.  

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Jalen Snead
School: Gwynedd Mercy University
Class: Junior
Position: Guard
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa.     
High School: Archbishop Ryan
Brief Outlook of Week: Snead has been invaluable off the Griffin bench, providing suffocating defense and playmaking ability in transition. He recorded four points, a rebound, six assists, and two steals in a 73-70 win over Cairn University. Then offered one point, three rebounds, five assists, a block, and two steals in a 83-69 win over Lebanon Valley College.
 
Weekly Honor Roll:
Dylan Crews (Sr., Immaculata): Dylan Crews scored 15 points shooting 6-11 (55%) from the field, with eight rebounds, and had one steal vs Albright College on Saturday. 
 
Brendan Franko (Sr., Marywood): Franko led the Pacers to an 84-72 victory over Haverford in their only contest of the week. He scored 18 points and seven rebounds to lead the way. Franko connected on 7 of 11 attempts (63 percent) from the field. He stands five points shy of the 1,000-point milestone for his career. 
 
Cameron Windt (So., Pratt): In Pratt's lone game of the week, Windt poured in a career-high 29 points, draining seven three-pointers in a 9-of-19 shooting effort from the field. Twenty of his points came in the second half as he helped the Cannoneers erase a 13-point deficit to tie in the final minute, but came up just short in an 84-82 defeat to York.
