Marymount's Harris, Phillips get Men's Basketball Weekly Awards

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Basketball weekly award winners on Monday, as Marymount’s Isaac Harris and Miles Phillips won Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors respectively.

Player of the Week:
Name: Isaac Harris
School: Marymount (Va.)
Class: Junior
Position: Guard
Hometown: Cherryville, Pa.    
High School: Northampton
Brief Outlook of Week: Junior guard Isaac Harris had a standout week in the Saints' 3-0 trek, including a win over the Landmark Conference favorite Susquehanna to take home the hardware from their hosting tournament. Averaging 14.7 points per game across the three contests, Harris dropped 22 in the Championship game on Saturday alongside seven rebounds to earn Most Outstanding Player. He grabbed 16 total boards across the week with four assists and a pair of steals alongside his 44 total points. 

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Miles Phillips
School: Marymount (Va.)
Class: Junior
Position: Guard
Hometown: Chester, Va.   
High School: Thomas Dale
Brief Outlook of Week: Miles Phillips was key in the Saints' defensive efforts last week to lead to a 3-0 week, including a win at the Susquehanna Tournament. Nabbing four steals, Phillips added nine total defensive boards alongside his 11 assists and eight points.
 
Weekly Honor Roll:
Kenneth Rankin (So., Centenary): After a dominant start in his first two games of the season where he led the AEC in scoring across both games, Rankin followed those performances with a twenty-four-point game. Rankin also added four assists to his stat line and was a key contributor to the Cyclones coming back from a ten-point deficit against Dickinson College. Rankin currently leads the AEC, averaging 22.3 points per game as he currently has sixty-seven points scored across three games.
 
TJ Lewis (Sr., Neumann): TJ Lewis averaged 11.3 points and 5.0 rebounds in a 2-1 week for Neumann. In a 66-63 win over Goucher, the senior tallied 21 points and eight rebounds. He followed with nine points in an 80-54 win at Penn State Brandywine. Lewis finished the week with four points and four boards in a 76-58 loss at Muhlenberg. 
 
D.J. Johnson (Jr., Gwynedd Mercy): Gwynedd Mercy University gave Arcadia University little room for error in Wednesday night's Battle of 309 as the Griffins assumed a 52-34 halftime perch before celebrating a 91-65 triumph. Junior guard D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) led five Griffins in double figures with a game-high 18 points; he complimented it with six rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal. He also recorded two rebounds and a steal in a Tuesday-night exhibition at Delaware State University.


Mandon Seapoe (So., Immaculata): Mandon Seapoe scored 17 points shooting 7-for-10 (70%) from the field, and 1-for-2 (50%) from behind the arc, with three rebounds and one steal in Immaculata's game vs Moravian on November 11th. 
 
Shilo Bivins (Jr., Marywood): Bivins scored a career-high 16 points off the bench in a 71-68 win over Penn State Hazleton. Bivins made 7 of 8 from the field (.875) in 17 minutes. Tied at 65-65, Bivins made back-to-back layups and made consecutive free throws to hold off the Lions. He scored the Pacers' last eight points.
 
Justin Savage (So., Gwynedd Mercy): Savage has made an early impact on the Red and Gold defense as the athletic sophomore guard totaled 11 rebounds, a block, and four steals between an exhibition versus NCAA DI, Delaware State University and a Battle of 309 victory over Arcadia University. He led the Griffins against the Hornets with 15 points, eight rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal. A day later, he contributed 11 points, three rebounds, and three steals to a 91-65 triumph over the Knights.
 
Justin Caver (So., Pratt): Caver averaged 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists over a two-game stretch for Pratt. He highlighted his week by scoring 20 points -- 17 in the second half -- on Saturday against USMMA to lead a comeback bid that would fall short.
