LANCASTER, Pa. – The Atlantic East Conference announced the 2024 Women’s Volleyball All-Conference teams and major awards on Tuesday, as voted upon by the coaches. Coaches nominated their players but could not vote for their own teams.
Marymount – the AEC Champion – won two of the major awards, as
Harper Wolf was named as the Player of the Year and
Katee Stromberg won the Elite 20 Award.
Neumann – the AEC Runner-Up – won three of the major awards as
Dani Smith was the Specialist of the Year and
Melissa Eddy was the Rookie of the Year. The coaching staff at Neumann was recognized by their peers as Coaching Staff of the Year.
Wolf – a first-team All-AEC selection – was second in the AEC on kills per set at 3.24. She averaged 3.36 points per set, third in the Atlantic East.
Smith – a first-team All-AEC selection – had over 1,000 assists this season which led the AEC and was second in assists per set at 8.41.
Eddy – also a first-team All-AEC selection – was second in the AEC in kills with 301 and had an attack percentage of .181.
Stromberg – a second-team All-AEC selection – won the Elite 20 Award. The Elite 20 Award is given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the championship site between the two participating teams. She had a perfect 4.00 GPA as a Biochemistry Major.
Finally, the Coaching Staff at Neumann led the Knights to a 13-19 record and a 5-1 mark in the AEC. The Knights advanced to the AEC title game.
