Saint Elizabeth and Marymount Receive Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors with Louis and Rothermel

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Volleyball weekly award winners on Monday as Dadlyna Louis of Saint Elizabeth and Jessica Rothermel of Marymount earned Player and Specialty Player of the Week honors, respectively.

Player of the Week: Dadlyna Louis
School: Saint Elizabeth
Class: Junior
Position: Middle Blocker
Hometown: East Orange, N.J.
High School: East Orange
Brief Outlook of Week: Louis finished with 42 kills for an astronomical .459 hitting efficiency on the week. The junior was able to tally three triple-doubles in three matches as the Eagles went 2-1. Louis would tally 17+ points in every match this week, along with tallying 10+ kills each match, highlighted by 16 kills in the last two matches against NJCU and in the team's first conference match up vs. Neumann. The East Orange, N.J., native was also able to record seven service aces against Bard College while racking up seven digs, four block assists, and one solo block defensively, along with an assist.


Specialty Player of the Week: Jessica Rothermel
School: Marymount
Class: Senior
Position: Setter
Hometown: Highland, Md.
High School: Reservoir
Brief Outlook of Week: Across Marymount's 3-0 week, with wins over McDaniel, Eastern Mennonite, and Virginia Union, Rothermel facilitated the offense in impressive fashion. Racking up 79 total assists across 10 sets, good for 7.90 per set, she set a career-high against McDaniel on Wednesday with 29 assists. Rothermell added a trio of kills, seven digs, and a block assist to her credit.
 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Angelica Santini Bulerin, Immaculata: Bulerin totaled 62 assists, four service aces, and 22 digs over Immaculata’s three matches this week. She recorded 31 assists and three service aces in Immaculata’s win over Cedar Crest on Wednesday. The freshman tallied 26 assists, one service ace, and 16 digs in the Mighty Macs match against Susquehanna.

Hailey LaBonte, Marymount: LaBonte played a key role in Marymount's 3-0 week, picking up wins over McDaniel, Eastern Mennonite, and Virginia Union to push their win streak to five. Averaging 4.05 points per set, the Portsmouth, R.I., native racked up 31 total kills, 3.10 per set, while hitting at a .138 clip. She added nine total service aces, with 25 digs and a block assist.

Ayla Bransford, Marywood: Bransford supplied 62 assists (5.64 per set) and seven aces in three Marywood wins. She had 39 assists in a five-set victory over SUNY Oneonta. Bransford added 12 and 11 assists in three-set wins against SUNY Delhi and Elmira, respectively. In the match against the Soaring Eagles, she had four aces. 

Carolina Samaniego, Marywood: Samaniego totaled 26 kills, 31 points, and a .224 hitting percentage, leading Marywood to a 3-0 record this week. She had 11 kills and two aces in a five-set victory over SUNY Oneonta. The freshman totaled eight kills and a .333 hitting mark in a three-set victory over SUNY Delhi before capping off the week with seven kills in a quick 3-0 win over Elmira. 

Melissa Eddy, Neumann: Eddy had 25 digs and 16 kills in a 1-1 week for the Knights, 0-1 in conference action. In a 3-0 win at Bryn Mawr, the sophomore had 17 digs, six kills, three service aces and two solo blocks. In the 3-1 loss to Saint Elizabeth, Eddy had 10 kills, nine digs and five service aces.
