Atlantic East Winter and Spring Team Academic Award Winners Announced

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the winning squads for the Winter and Spring Team Academic Awards on Wednesday, as seven institutions garnered awards.

The Team Academic honor is awarded to the institution's team that had the top GPA in its respective sport through the semester(s) it played in. The GPA is calculated for each season as follows:
  • Fall Season Teams (WSOC, MSOC, WVB, FH, WXC, MXC): Fall Semester Grades
  • Winter Season Teams (WBB, MBB, WSWIM, MSWIM): Cumulative of Fall and Spring Semester Grades
  • Spring Season Teams (MLAX, WLAX, BB, SB, WFLAG, MT&F, WT&F, MTEN, WTEN): Spring Semester Grades
Three teams each won three winter and spring team academic honors from Gwynedd Mercy, Immaculata and Marywood. The spring top GPA was from Marywood women’s tennis with a 3.81, while the overall the top GPA for the year was 3.85 form Marywood women’s cross country. 

Overall Marywood held the most team GPA winners with six, followed closed behind by Gwynedd Mercy with five teams. Immaculata had a strong spring with three winners, with Neumann having two teams. Four other teams each had one team with the top GPA from Gallaudet,Manhattanville,  Penn State Schuylkill, and Pratt. 

Overall all eight conference institutions were recognized with a team honor. This top GPA beats the top GPA from 2023-24 which was a 3.8. 

The Winter and Spring Team Academic have been announced below.

Winter: 
  • Men’s Basketball: Marywood 3.38
  • Women’s Basketball: Immaculata 3.63
  • Men’s Swimming: Immaculata 3.6
  • Women’s Swimming: Gallaudet 3.49
Spring: 
  • Baseball: Gwynedd Mercy 3.369
  • Women’s Flag Football: Penn State Schuylkill 3.315
  • Men’s Lacrosse: Marywood 3.45
  • Women’s Lacrosse: Gwynedd Mercy 3.59
  • Softball: Gwynedd Mercy 3.663
  • Men’s Tennis: Neumann 3.71
  • Women’s Tennis: Marywood 3.81
  • Men’s Track and Field: Immaculata 3.36
  • Women’s Track and Field: Pratt 3.789
FALL TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD WINNERS:
  • Field Hockey: Manhattanville 3.48
  • Men's Cross Country: Gwynedd Mercy 3.85
  • Women's Cross Country: Maywood 3.85
  • Men's Soccer: Marywood & Neumann 3.26
  • Women's Soccer: Gwynedd Mercy 3.70
  • Women's Volleyball: Marywood 3.59
